Biography
I’m a postgraduate student at Cardiff University, studying for my PhD in Astrophysics with the UKRI Centre for Doctoral Training in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Advanced Computing (AIMLAC). Prior to this, I completed my undergraduate masters degree at the University of St Andrews. I have been teaching in first and second year undergraduate computational lab modules since 2023 as a graduate demonstrator.
Outwith academia, I enjoy playing video games, various musical instruments and the odd tabletop wargame. I’m also a very keen Scottish Country Dancer (a form of social dance similar to Ceilidh dancing). I first learned to dance as a child. After some time away from the hobby, I picked it up again at university in St Andrews. While at university, I was President of the Celtic Society (the university’s Scottish Country Dance society) and in my last year, I was a dance teacher. Since leaving St Andrews, I have started another social and competitive dance group, Saltire SCD, of which I am Chairperson. I teach this group as well, alongside my partner.
